¨ Conference Venue
The “MRI-User Day” will be held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ghent University, Salisburylaan 133, 9820 Merelbeke, Belgium. The faculty is situated at the E-40 (Liège – Brussels – Ostend) motorway.
The conference will be localised in the Kliniekauditorium B, which is located on your right when you enter the faculty. Coffee breaks and lunches will be served in the exhibitor area in front of the auditorium.
¨ How to get to Ghent?
Ghent is centrally located in Flanders, easily accessible by air, by train and by car.
BY AIR :
Belgium’s National Airport is situated in Brussels-Zaventem, only 45 minutes away from Ghent and has flight from over 70 international destinations, operated by more than 140 international and regional airline companies.
The other Belgian airports, Ostend, Antwerp and Charleroi, serve several European destinations and have easy and direct connections to Ghent.
BY TRAIN :
Thanks to its central location in Flanders, and just half an hour away from Brussels Midi Station, Ghent is very easily accessible by train from all Belgian and European Cities.
The high-speed trains, Eurostar and Thalys, take you to Ghent in only 2 hours from Paris and in about 3 hours from London, Amsterdam and Cologne.
There is a direct train from Zaventem to Ghent (St. Pieters).
BY CAR :
Ghent is centrally located at the intersection of 2 major European highways :
the E- 17 connects Northern Europe with the Southern countries, and the E-40 goes from the North Sea up to Eastern Europe.

Merelbeke is located 10 km from Ghent. Ghent is well signposted on all motorways.
From the Netherlands and Antwerp to the Veterinary Faculty in Merelbeke (by E17 and R4):
Take the highway E17 and head towards Gent
Passing close to ‘Beervelde’, take the exit (Gent-Zeehaven – Eeklo-Zelzate)
Take the R4 and head towards ‘Eeklo,Merelbeke’
Continue following “Merelbeke” (after a while you are driving next to a watercanal)
Leave this road (R4) at the exit Merelbeke and turn right on the bridge.
At the roundabout (just after the bridge) : turn left (= Guldensporenlaan)
Continue (keep right) along this road
Down the bridge, at the roundabout : turn right (you are now entering the faculty)
On the Campus, follow the signs “MRI-User Day”.
From Brussel to the Veterinary Faculty in Merelbeke (by E40 and R4):
Take the highway E40 and head towards ‘Oostende’
Passing ‘Wetteren’, take the next exit = exit 16 (Antwerpen, Zelzate, Eeklo, Gent, Haven)
After 200m turn right (going down)
at the end: turn left (under the bridge)
at the end: turn left
cross the bridge
After the bridge, at the round about: choose right (you are now entering the campus)
On the Campus, follow the signs “MRI-User Day”.
From France to the Veterinary Faculty in Merelbeke (by E17, E40 and R4):
Take the highway E17 and head towards Gent
Passing close to ‘Deinze’, change to the highway E40 and head towards ‘Brussel’
Take exit 16 (Antwerpen, Zelzate, Eeklo, Gent, Haven)
Change to R4 direction ‘Zelzate-Eeklo’ (after a while you are driving next to a watercanal)
Leave this road (R4) at the exit Merelbeke and turn right on the bridge.
At the roundabout (just after the bridge) : turn left (= Guldensporenlaan)
Continue (keep richt) along this road
Down the bridge, at the roundabout : turn right (you are now entering the faculty)
